SipTrack collects the following information to provide our service:
Account Information: Email address, username, display name, date of birth, and optional profile photo.
Drinking Activity: Number of drinks logged, drink types, drink prices (when entered), session start/end times, venue names, and venues visited during bar hopping. This data is used to display your personal statistics, estimated spending, estimated BAC, and share activity with friends you approve.
Location Data: When you grant permission, we access your location to detect nearby bars and venues and for distance calculations. When you log a night or create a post, approximate location coordinates may be stored on our servers as part of that activity to power features such as your drinking map and venue detection. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
Photos: Selfies taken at drink milestones are stored on your device only. They are never uploaded to our servers, which also means they do not transfer to a new phone. Photos you choose to share — posts, stories and chat photos — are uploaded to private cloud storage and are visible only to the people you shared them with. Deleting a post deletes its photo.
Emergency Contact: If provided, your emergency contact's name and phone number are stored to enable the safety check feature. We never contact them directly — only you initiate contact.
Home Address: If provided in Profile settings, your home address is stored locally on your device only (in app storage). It is never uploaded to our servers. It is used solely to pre-fill destination fields in Uber/Lyft deep links and Apple Maps directions so you can get home safely.
Error Reports: When something in the app fails, we record the error message, which part of the app it came from, your app version and your iOS version, on our own servers. This is how we find out that something is broken for real people rather than only in testing. It does not record what you were doing, what you were looking at, or anything you typed, and we delete these records after 30 days. This is separate from the optional crash reporting below and is kept because the app cannot be repaired without it.
Usage Analytics: We record the date you last opened the app, one row per day that you were active, and a small number of feature-usage events (for example, that a night was started). These are stored on our own servers, are visible only to us, and are used to understand how many people use SipTrack and which features get used. They are not sold, not shared, and not sent to any advertising or analytics company.

Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud platform with encryption at rest and in transit. Local data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Row-Level Security ensures you can only access your own data and data shared with you by friends. Photos are stored in private storage buckets accessible only to authorized users.
When you add friends, they can see your night activity (drink count, venue, duration) unless you set your visibility to "private." You control who sees your activity.
You can also make your whole account private in Settings. With a private account, only people you have accepted as friends can see your posts, stories, nights, achievements and bar crawls. Your display name, username and profile photo stay visible so that people can still find you — and so that anyone can block or report you. This is enforced on our servers, not only in the app.
Group chat messages and shared photos are visible to all members of the group. You can leave groups at any time.
Reactions on friend activity are visible to all mutual friends.
SipTrack requires users to be 21 years of age or older. We verify age during onboarding via date of birth entry. We do not independently verify the accuracy of the date provided.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Account deletion requires multi-step verification (including typing "DELETE") to prevent accidental data loss. This permanently removes all your data from our servers, including:
You can also clear your night history separately without deleting your account. Local data on your device is also deleted when you delete your account.
We keep what you create until you delete it. Nights, drinks, photos, posts, comments and messages are retained for as long as your account exists — SipTrack is a record of your nights, so deleting them on a schedule would defeat the point of it.
Two things expire on their own:
Deleting your account removes everything else permanently, on our servers and on your device — see Data Deletion above. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are not restored to bring deleted accounts back.
SipTrack is a 21+ product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and the app requires a date of birth showing you are 21 or older before it will open. If you believe a child has provided us information, email support@siptrack.app and we will delete the account.

SipTrack does not currently show ads. There are no banners anywhere in the app, in the free version or in Pro.
The Google AdMob framework is present in the app but no ad is requested or displayed. If that ever changes we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before any ad appears, and iOS will ask your permission through the system tracking prompt before any advertising identifier is shared.
We do not sell your personal data. We have never shared your drink history, location history, photos, messages or friend list with an advertiser, and we do not intend to.
